Day 1: Quiver Tree Forset - You will be collected from your accommodation at 8.00am. We travel south passing through the window to the south and crossing the Tropic of Capricorn. We stop at Mariental for fresh supplies before having a roadside lunch. We arrive at Quiver Tree Forest late afternoon and have time to relax and explore the quiver tree forest and rock formations. Dinner prepared by guide with group assistance. Evening spent around campfire. (L,D)
Day 2: Hobas, Fish River Canyon - Today we leave early with a short stop in Keetmanshoop for fresh supplies. We arrive at Ai Ais, at the southern end of the Fish River Canyon, to have lunch and swim in the thermal hot springs pool. Later we take a scenic drive through to Hobas with our first glimpses of the magnificent Fish River Canyon, on arrival at Hobas we pitch camp and then drive down to the edge of the Fish River Canyon where we do walks along the rim of the canyon. Sunset is spent admiring the views over the canyon before returning to camp. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Klein Aus Mountains - This morning we have a short stop at the Fish canyon before proceeding to Aus. After lunch we have the afternoon to explore the many hiking trails or take the optional activity of horse riding (minimum 3 persons and to be booked in advance). Late afternoon your guide will lead you to the saddle for a breathtaking view of the Namib Desert at sunset. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Klein Aus Mountains - This morning we depart from Klein Aus for a day trip to Lüderitz. Our first stop is at Kolmanskop for a guided tour of the ghost town in the desert dunes, after the visit to Kolmanskop we take the short drive to Lüderitz. After lunch we drive out to Diaz Point and look for the penguins on Halifax Island. We return to Klein Aus in the late afternoon, after stopping to look for the famous desert horses of the Namib. Day 5: Sesriem, Namib Naukluft - We depart early for the drive to Sesreim, where we have lunch and pitch camp. This afternoon we drive to Sossusvlei, reputed to be the highest sand dunes in the world, and explore this spectacular area and climb Dune 45 for sunset before returning to camp. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Swakopmund - We leave Sesriem camp before sunrise and drive to Elims Dune to watch the sunrise over the Naukluft Mountains and the central Namib sand sea. We then visit Sesriem Canyon before returning to camp for breakfast. We drive through the Namib Desert to Walvis Bay and visit the lagoon, which is famous for its abundant bird life. This afternoon you have time for optional activities such as a scenic flight or quad biking. We arrive at our bungalow mid afternoon and our rooms are on a twin share basis. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Spitzkoppe - This morning you have free time to visit the museum, explore the town, visit the aquarium or partake in optional activities such as sand boarding and quad biking. After lunch we drive north up the Skeleton Coast to the Cape Cross Seal Colony where there can be up to 100,000 cape fur seals. We arrive at Spitzkoppe in the late afternoon and set up camp. The evening spent under a million stars in a remote bush camp. (B,L,D)
Day 8: Aba-Huab, Twyfelfontein - The day starts with an early morning guided walk to Bushmans Paradise. Our drive through to our camp, at Aba-Huab, takes us through some beautiful and dramatic landscapes and we keep our eyes peeled for desert elephant. We arrive at camp mid afternoon and have lunch; this afternoon at Twyfelfontein we take a local guide to explore this unique area. We also visit the Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain near sunset. (B,L,D)
Day 9: Okaukuejo, Etosha National Park - We pick up fresh supplies at Outjo and then game drive to our camp at Okaukeujo, in the Etosha National Park, for lunch. After setting up our tents we take a late afternoon game drive visiting many waterholes and looking for species such as elephant, lion, rhino, kudu, giraffe, springbok, zebra and many more. Nighttime viewing at flood lit waterhole. (B,L,D)
DAY 10: Namutoni, Etosha National Park - Yet another early departure as we leave Okaukeujo at sunrise for a full morning game drive. We will transit across the park visiting various waterholes along the way. We spend the hottest part of the day at Halali camp where we have lunch and enjoy a swim or an afternoon snooze. Later in the afternoon we depart on another game drive to Namutoni via the famous Etosha Pan. Nighttime viewing at flood lit waterhole. (B,L,D)
DAY 11: Waterberg Plateau - At sunrise we set off on a game drive and return to camp for a cooked breakfast. After breakfast we leave the Etosha National Park heading for the Waterberg Plateau. We have a short stop at Lake Otjikoto before proceeding to Otjiwarongo for fresh supplies. We arrive at the Waterberg Plateau and set up camp before sunset. (B,L,D)
DAY 12: Return to Windhoek - Today there is an optional game drive on top of the Waterberg Plateau to view endangered species such as rhino, eland, roan and sable. Alternatively you can hike the many short trails at the base of the plateau and your guide will lead you to the top of the plateau for a stunning view of the Kalahari. After lunch we return to Windhoek via the Okahandja Craft Markets for those last minute gifts. (B,L)
